The offshore and subsea services sector in Latin America could have another high-profile client to woo now that Malaysian state-owned oil and gas company Petronas has signed agreements with Mexico’s Pemex and Argentina’s YPF in an attempt to grow its business in the region.
Oceaneering International, Inc. has entered into a two-year charter for use of the “Island Pride”, a multi-service subsea support vessel owned by Island Offshore Shipping International AS. The vessel is expected to be available for work in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico (GOM) in early January 2015.
Sembcorp Marine subsidiary Jurong Shipyard has been awarded a contract by MODEC Offshore Production Systems to complete the repair, life extension and conversion of a VLCC (very large crude carrier) tanker into a floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel.
McDermott International, Inc. has been awarded a contract to install the offshore jacket, deck and piles for the Ayatsil-A drilling platform for Mexico’s PEMEX Exploracion y Produccion in the Bay of Campeche Ayatsil field.
